Written Dilemma (3’)
‘Written Dilemma’ is intended as an acousmatic work, diffused over a loudspeaker system.
The idea for using paper as the sound source material occurred when I was listening to some different electroacoustic works and examining their structures and ripping up the paper after writing the wrong thing.
The three main ideas I chose to record and use in this piece are three that I feel we use almost daily- or at least I do! Crumpling paper- whether to throw it in the bin or just in rage, annoyance etc. Moving hand across paper to create a swooshing effect (when writing for instance), and tearing paper… Again out of annoyance, destroying private documents etc.
