Breaking Point is an acousmatic work exploring the connection between human and object and how when under adverse strain, they can both breakdown and be destroyed.
The piece is structured into several small sections. The main sound object for the entire 15 minute work is a balloon.
My intention throughout the piece was to depict sound world completely different from that expected to be created from such a simple sound source as a balloon.
Breaking Point was realized in the Electroacoustic Studios at the University of Edinburgh between September 2010 and January 2011.
